Martin Jones - Workshop Leader
Martin has been involved in making music for many years. His first instrument is the piano which he studied as a Junior Exhibitioner at Trinity College of Music, London. He played keyboards and guitar in pop and standards bands before widening his range of musical instruments to include the ukulele, saxophone and concertina.

As a singer Martin began as a boy treble then progressed to local and county choirs, performing at the South Bank and the Birmingham Symphony Hall. He has a liking for a cappella, singing with Innominata in Kent and VoiceHouse in Edinburgh before founding The Pebbles, a Staffordshire based singing group. To share his enjoyment of music making more widely and to encourage all to sing Martin founded the Broughton Community Choir in 2008.

After a first career in IT followed by a spell as a secondary school music teacher Martin became a freelance instrumental teacher and a leader of choral workshops and choirs.
Ashton Sings are a community choir based in Ashton Hayes near Chester. They meet on Monday evenings at Ashton Village Hall.

Broughton Community Choir is based in Broughton Staffordshire. They were formed in 2008 and have grown to approximately 80 members.
